QA Engineer

The role

We are looking for a thoughtful QA Engineer to test modern web and mobile products across real user journeys, devices, and edge cases. You will work closely with product, design, and engineering to identify risk early and communicate it clearly.

What you will do

• Plan and perform exploratory, functional, and regression testing.
• Turn requirements and product flows into practical test coverage.
• Report defects with clear evidence, impact, and reproduction steps.
• Test responsive interfaces, APIs, integrations, and failure states.
• Contribute to release readiness and improve repeatable QA practices.
• Use modern AI-assisted tools to expand test ideas, analyse evidence, and improve documentation while independently verifying every conclusion.
• Collaborate asynchronously and raise risks before they become blockers.

What we are looking for

• Hands-on experience testing production web applications.
• Strong exploratory instincts and structured attention to detail.
• Comfort with browser developer tools and API testing tools.
• Clear written English and concise defect communication.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment.

Useful, not required

• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, or another automation tool.
• Mobile testing across iOS and Android devices.
• Accessibility, performance, or security testing experience.
• Basic SQL and confidence reading application logs.
• Experience evaluating or using AI-assisted testing and development tools.

This is a remote contract role. Scope, availability, compensation, and working overlap are discussed directly with shortlisted candidates. We care more about useful evidence and sound judgement than heavyweight process.
